Coleraine Support Group
SUPPORT GROUP STARTING THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 2015
At OCD NI we will now be providing two support groups within Northern Ireland. The first one we set up was in Belfast and we are now starting our second in Coleraine. We had sufferers asking us for the resource locally, so we are providing it. This group will begin on Thursday 30th April 2015. We did a survey on where within the Northern Trust everyone wanted the group to be located, Coleraine was by far the most popular. So Coleraine is where we will be holding the group. The group will run every 3 weeks.
Our meetings will run from 6.30pm - 7.45pm. The Coleraine support group will be held in The Sandel Centre. Directions and information of which you can find here: www.sandelcentre.org/contact-us The meeting will be held in a private room called The sunroom. For the first meeting we will all meet in the reception area and then all go to the room, so you don't have to worry about not being able to find it!
We provide the support group free of charge, as we see a real need for this type of support in Northern Ireland. This group is to support and help sufferers fight against their OCD, It's not for ruminative purposes. We aim to give sufferers support in their individual fights. Support groups can be highly effective in helping sufferers. It's nice to be able to meet other sufferers, talk openly about your condition and have a laugh too. Peer support really does help. We provide worksheets and other resources to help in you fight. Basically we do what we can to aid you in your fight.
*Please note for this group you must be 16+
*Family members of sufferers are more than welcome to join the group but please note the group will be mainly tailored for sufferers. We will do our best however to help family members too, as we understand that OCD affects the whole family.
If you'd like to join us and sign up, please email us at office@ocdni.co.uk with the following information:
Name
Age
Status (sufferer or family member)
