Wisdom Of Warriors
“Be kind to people and don’t judge, for you do not know what demons they carry and what battles they are fighting.”
― Vashti Quiroz-Vega
Vashti kindly gave me permission to use this fantastic quote for the Wisdom Of Warriors (WOW) idea which puts into words exactly what I was hoping to say about WOW
We all face our own demons and battles and whereas some would consider me an OCD sufferer I now consider myself to be an OCD warrior
WOW is a simple idea which although may take a lot of effort to put in place is something that needs to be done.
Along with professional support and care sometimes the best help for a warrior is to help and be helped by fellow warriors facing the same battle.
The concept of WOW is a global support network which also shows people the help available to them in their immediate location
On first arrival on the WOW website you would be directed to the battles section where you get sections such as OCD, Panic Attacks, GAD, PTSD, Grief and various other battles.
You then get a description and some basic information about that particular battle
Then we come to the links section that points the warrior to online support groups and facebook pages where fellow warriors are there to chat with – despite how good local healthcare can be there is limited places when you can get help after normal working hours
Professional help will always be of utmost importance but sometimes a chat with a fellow warrior can keep you going long enough to find the help more locally
This section would also point warriors in the direction of professional support offered by various health care providers such as the Samaritans and childline etc
Also in the links section people would be directed to more local based support including online groups such as OCDNI and given contact details to professional services in their local area
It really is a simple concept – basically a support network for those facing battles which provides information about online support and local based support – a multilevel yellow pages or road map if you will
Using the technology hopefully to benefit more people – turning www into wow
Anybody who thinks they can help with this mad scheme please get in touch
